"TO LEND TO THOSE LESS FORTUNATE A HELPING HAND."

As the first line of the Phi Mu Creed states, lending a helping hand to others is at the heart of who we are. Phi Mu Alpha Epsilon is committed to serving our community and we are proud to partner with Children's Miracle Network. We are so grateful to have the opportunity to plan events throughout the year, as seen below, where all proceeds support the children and their families in Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

MU MADNESS

We hosted our Mu Madness spring philanthropy event, where the community joined us in supporting Children's Miracle Network on April 7th 2024. Mu Madness consists of teams, including a Miracle Man nominee, that compete in mini basketball games to benefit CMNH. Miracle Man nominees created their teams and fundraised all week. With a show out of a whopping 31 teams, The Westside Courts definitely got competitive and made for a great night. Phi Mu is so thankful for all of our Miracle Man nominees and their teams that came out to support the kids. Dain Braun received the title of Phi Mu's Miracle Man at the end of the event, raising an outstanding $8,097. In total, Mu Madness raised over $27,701 for CMNH, so you could say Mu Madness was definitely a success! We are so grateful for our community's shared passion and support for Children's Miracle Network.

PHI FEST

We hosted Phi Fest on November 16, 2023 at our chapter facility supporting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. It was an event festival with different food and attractions. We had Frother’s Daughter and Spark’d Bracelets at our event as well as a CMNH table that highlighted the 6 Miracle children that have birthdays in October and allowed attendees to upload kind birthday messages and pictures to a digital dashboard that they were able to view. There was a section of the event where participants could donate to Pie a Phi Mu sister in the face. The main attraction of the event was the two bands we had performing with an intermission our Miracle Child Powie Patterson was able to come with her family and share her miracle story with the attendees of the event. At the end of the event, we raised over $10,000 for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The event exceeded our expectations and we are grateful for the members of our community who came together to support us.

My name is Kristin Crespo, and I am Phi Mu’s Vice President of Philanthropy for 2024! Philanthropy is something that I have always held near and dear to my heart and have always had a passion for. As I went through recruitment as a freshman, what really stood out to me about our chapter was our philanthropy, and the passion that all of the women shared for this cause. Phi Mu’s Philanthropy Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is an organization that has been near and dear to my heart for some time now, and being able to give back to phi mu and CMNH by serving as the Vice President of Philanthropy has allowed me to grow as a person, and help others in and out of our chapter understand this cause and share the passion for supporting this organization along with us. The work I have done with Phi Mu and other organizations on campus like Dance Marathon, Relay for Life, Light the Night, Best Buddies, and FSL Line Dance has allowed me to turn my passions in my future career to want to work to give back

A message from our VP of Philanthropy, Kristin Crespo:

to my community and those around me. Learning and growing through the guidance of this organization has been nothing short of rewarding. Along with being involved in Dance Marathon which supports CMNH, some roles that I have taken on during my time in Phi Mu have been Philanthropy Team Member, Director of Philanthropy, and now Vice President of Philanthropy. Each one of these roles has taught me something valuable and will continue to guide me in all of my future endeavors. To this day, one of the most rewarding experiences that I have had during my time at FSU has been getting to put on these philanthropy events for the chapter, and the entire FSU community. Seeing people have fun while learning and supporting a cause so near and dear to my heart reminds me why I love to do this. I am most looking forward to guiding the next generation of philanthropy-driven individuals and watching them grow into people who truly care about giving back to their communities. I am so thankful for this opportunity and will not let you down!
